Bear Flag + Blackened Wahoo Taco
FISH LOVERS WELCOME
Veg/Pesc + Vegan + GF
Let me start off by saying this is not just any taco, it’s a Bear Flag taco. That simple looking tortilla should not blind you to what’s inside. What an incredible mouthful of flavors! The fish is perfectly blackened, topped with pico de gallo, red & green cabbage, and their special sauce. I simply could not get enough! I would recommend this bite size wonder to anyone that loves fish (or hates it). I’m not typically a fish lover myself, but if I can speak this highly of a fish taco it has to be a winner. Bear Flag is a trendy, fresh, and healthy take on fast food. Join them for Taco Tuesday for some sweet deals!

Recommendations: Try the Blackened Wahoo Taco and avoid the chips and salsa. The chips and salsa weren’t the best I’ve ever had. I think the pico needs a bit more flavor.
Cucina Enoteca + Bruschetta
Vegetarian. Vegan. Gluten-Free. Friendly

If Anthropologie was a restaurant it would be called Cucina Enoteca. The perpetually trendy Italian restaurant and wine shop is perfect for wholesale wine purchases and dining. Their entrees are both aesthetically appealing and delicious. Pictured is the 3 piece bruschetta sampler. This sampler is designed to be shared. It is the perfect starter to any meal to curb your hunger, leaving just enough room to enjoy your entree. Our table finished off happy hour with white sangria, dirty martinis, bruschetta sampler, and the deconstructed tiramisu. All equally exquisite, but the most favored dish was the desert. Cucina Enoteca’s food and drinks were delicious, which encourages me to come back again next time indulging in the wholesale wine selection! The only negative thing to be said would be to suggest hiring a more enthusiastic hostess (Maybe she was having an off day? Who knows life happens).

Salt Creek Grille + Grilled Chicken BLT
Select items Vegetarian & Gluten-Free. Menu items easily altered.

The Salt Creek Grille  is a great place to enjoy a nice dinner with your family and friends. It has a touch of elegance and a homey vibe, most likely do to the fact it is a family owned restaurant. We reserved two covered tables on the patio which made for a comfortable, private, little nook. The staff was well prepared for our large party making the dining experience that much more enjoyable. Our tables ordered everything from the crisp salads, filets cooked to perfection, down to the chocolate soufflé. There was so many delicious options to choose from it was difficult to decide. I just might have to stop by Salt Creek Grille again.

Lemonade (USC Campus) + Lemonade (All Flavors)
Vegan. Vegetarian. & Gluten-Free. Friendly.

Lemonade is a one of a kind fast food chain that I would hardly label as “fast food.” It’s a vegetarian’s paradise filled with delicious options beginning with a well stocked salad bar, but not limited to. There are soups, sandwiches, and dare I tempt you with…dessert? BUT THAT LEMONADE THOUGH! Try. Them. All.  It’s a food chain as refreshing as the name. Lemonade can be spotted throughout the LA area as well as many other select locations in Southern California.

Gina’s Pizza & Pastaria (Oak St.) + Cheese Slice (Extra: Ranch Side)
Vegetarian. & Gluten Free. (Try their gluten free crust!)

I’ve been going to Gina’s Pizza & Pastaria (affectionately referred to as Gina’s) for years and not once have I ever been dissatisfied with a meal. Their crust is cooked to perfection; not too crunchy, not too soft. While their other menu items are equally as delicious, it’s their pizza that always keeps me coming back for more. If you didn’t already know the not so secret “secret” try your pizza with ranch! It’s the missing key ingredient as to what makes their pizza so good. This specific location is located on the corner of Oak St. and PCH. Its prime location makes it easy to come up from the beach for a quick lunch. Hot and sunburnt? Order a refreshing pitcher of beer with that pizza!  They are especially patient with the local beach goers. Do they appreciate that you walked in half naked in a bathing suit and sand? No, probably not. Do they patiently put up with it? Yes! With that being said, it is extremely low key and casual.

Salut Kitchen Bar + SALUT BURGER (EXTRA: FRIED EGG)
Vegetarian. & Gluten Free. Friendly

Salut Kitchen Bar is located in Tempe, Arizona with that being their only location at the moment. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, but the outdoor patio is what gives this place such a great atmosphere. With 64 five star YELP reviews I had to check it out. It was everything I had hoped for and more! I dabbled in a little bit from every section of the menu and everything was cooked to perfection. They took even the most basic item on the menu (shoestring french fries) “Salut Fries” garnished them in feta, parmesan, citrus vinaigrette, fresh herbs and turned it into a mouth watering, culinary, masterpiece. You’ll also notice a handful of menu items are cooked in wine and beer (you wine connoisseurs will appreciate that Salut Kitchen Bar is also a wine bar). If you find yourself in the Phoenix, Arizona area I suggest you stop by and check it out. 64 five star Yelp reviews? Make that 65!
